Homefinder Dorset
Homefinder Dorset is a new way of finding a home to rent which
lets you apply for a home of your choice instead of having to wait
for an offer that somebody else thinks is suitable.
East Dorset Housing Association operates the scheme
in partnership with East Dorset District Council and housing
associations with homes for rent in your area. All available homes
are advertised every week in a range of locations e.g. Council
Offices, Town and Parish Councils. The advertisements and the
document that is available to download on this page give details
about:
- the homes available;
- their location and the weekly rent; and which band they are
in.
Homefinder Dorset is a simple and clear way of finding a home for
rent from most housing associations in East Dorset. It’s designed
to give applicants a choice over where they live and to make sure
that those in the greatest need are given the highest
priority.
Homefinder Dorset uses a banding system - gold, silver and
bronze – to identify housing need with those in the gold band being
given the highest priority and those in the bronze band the
lowest.
For an application form to register on Homefinder Dorset, please
contact East Dorset Housing Association on 01202 864200. Homefinder
Dorset enables you to bid for a home by post; using a pre-paid
card, by email homefinder.dorset@edha.co.uk
or by leaving a message on 01202 864228. The pre-paid cards are
available from EDHA and will be sent out to applicants when you
register with us.
The leaflet Finding Homes (size 1.24Mb) has
further information on this scheme. This leaflet shows what we take
into account in deciding which band an applicant is placed
in.
