Tenant Forum
The Tenant Forum
meet on a monthly basis. Part of the role of the Tenant Forum
is to monitor the services of EDHA; they also act as a consultation
panel for policies and decisions which effect residents.
The Tenant Forum is made up of a nominated representative from
each 'Local Interest Group' (click here),
and the four Tenant Board Members, (click
here)
There is also the option of co-opting local residents who have
specific skills (inviting them to join). Tenant Forum meetings
are open, and any resident is welcome to attend, but only the
members are able to vote.
The Tenant Forum meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
Tenant Board Members
The EDHA Board of Management is made up of twelve
members, four of whom are tenants of EDHA. Any tenant
can stand at a Board Member Election. Tenant Board Members
play a vital role in the organisation, but it does take up a lot of
time. You do not need to have experience because training and
support are provided.
Board members are automatically members of the Tenant Forum.
Local Interest Groups
Local Interest Groups are open to everyone in the
community. Local Interest Groups can make a real
difference. Meeting regularly, these groups provide
opportunities for you to discuss local issues and make suggestions
for improvements. These groups are open to everyone and you
are welcome to attend meetings just on a one off basis or more
regularly. Groups which are recognised by the Tenant Forum
can even get funding, training and support.
In order to receive funding from EDHA there need to be six
members who are tenants of EDHA but other members of the community
are welcome to join as well.
Membership of a Local Interest Group can be rewarding, and a
representative from the group can attend the Tenant Forum.
But, it's not all just meetings; Local Interest Groups can also
arrange social events!
If you are interested in setting up an interest group, support and
advice is available from the Resident Involvement Officer and the
Tenant Forum members.
